AG of Maine's current distribution facility in Gardiner, Maine was built in 1986. In 2006, we completed a $5M expansion of 41,000 sq. ft. of refrigerated space to accommodate increased perishable sales. Currently, our "state of the art facility" comprises over 261,000 sq. ft. and allows us to offer a wide variety of products and services which enhance the success and profitability of our member retailers.

All orders are received electronically, our forklift operators receive their assignments via radio frequency with computers and our selectors select product using "hands free" Vocollect equipment. Inventory is managed through our WCSS (World Wide Chain Store) inventory management system and ensures we maintain an exceptionally high service level.

AG of Maine strives to use technology whenever possible to make our operation as efficient as possible in order to reduce costs for our customers and position the company for future growth.

Efficiency is important, but Safety remains our top priority. Over the past few years, AGME has added implemented rigorous preplacement physicals, drug testing, ergonomics committee, surveillance cameras and a strong safety orientation program for new employees; and purchased powered pallet jacks for the drivers and lift gates for the trailers to help to ensure employees are working in a safe manner and control workers compensation exposures.

The strength of our Transportation Department resides primarily in our Drivers. They are the Company's ambassadors to the retailer. Equipped with cellular communication, they have the ability to contact the corporate facility and quickly facilitate a retailer's request. Our drivers average over 10 years of service to the Company, their driving skills and knowledge of New England roads ensure they arrive in a timely and safe manner, even in the most treacherous of conditions. Regardless of the weather, we have maintained a 99 percent on-time delivery rate. Their skills, coupled with an up to date fleet, focused on fuel efficiency and safety, surpasses our competition.

Additionally, they are supported by a Transportation Administrative staff that blends many years of logistical, as well as retailer based, knowledge and experience. This knowledge and experience is used in conjunction with computerized routing and tracking software, to ensure efficient and timely delivery routes. Our team realizes that delivering product late and causing a retailer to miss an important window of opportunity for sales is not an option.

The Transportation Department prides itself on delivering exceptional service without exception.
